dvm.exe

So looking at task manager dvm.exe is hogging 79k worth of my memory. The
only thing I've found that makes referrence to to this is,

"The Windows program (DVM.EXE) runs as a background
job and displays the A/D data in a small window (similar
to the CLOCK program that comes with MS Windows).

Since this is a beta and I figure there are some monitoring scripts running
to collect data but if trying to speed up they system to do some more
testing. I try to kill it but it restarts itself...any ideas of why it needs
to run??

Are you perhaps referring to dwn.exe, the Desktop Window Manager?
dwm.exe probably has something to do with Aero though exactly what and
in which way it's different from explorer.exe I do no know.

If you find a process in Task Manager that you want to know more about
right-click it and select propertied.

If you're talking about dwm.exe, you can reduce (although not completely
remove) the memory usage from dwm.exe by shutting off Aero Glass.

If it were the DWM, then i'd say only 79K is pretty good! My dwm.exe is
using 84504K right now!

I don't appear to have a dvm.exe in my task list. I don't know what it is.
Are you able to find where it lives on disk?

38,224K and working like a charm.

119,516 and sometimes having a rough time but I think that's mostly due to
the nVidia driver.

54,244 K for DWM.

You wanna know what's chewing up the most, for me?

WinMail = 99,980 K

Why am I not surprised at that one?

These are the things you should be giving Microsoft feedback. Only that way
they can improve the RAM Usage.

DWM is now only 23,952K. (Still with Glass enabled) It sure changes sizes a
lot but it's also eating 3% of my CPU.
Windows Mail is eating 30,268K but yesterday was eating around doubled. The
longer I wait, the lower the RAM usage is with DWM.exe.
