Huh.

Try Windows Media Player 9. Probably some third party MPEG2 decompression filters. DirectX, Sound filters and support, etc.

What do you have so far in your image? Do you have some special requirements for your device, boot speed, image size ....

George,

There is a DVD Playback Macro. It should bring in Windows Media Player and
all the needed codecs. If you need to automate playing the DVD create an
application using the WMP API for control.

Just search for DVD in Target Designer. You will find what you need.

Hi Brad,

Are you sure about that it will bring all required codec's?
For instance MPEG2 codec is required, and I can't remember if it is part of Win XP Professional.

Best regards,
Slobodan

Slobodan is correct. A third party codec is required by MP to run
DVDs. This is true on both XPe and XP Pro.

The size is the smaller the better, and the boot speed is faster the better.
:)

But if i use the Media Player 9.0, it seems the image size is much larger.
If i use the DHCP the boot speed is much slower.

My image has include the Media player 9, and can see the DVD rom in the XPE,
but it can't read the file system of the DVD rom, should i add the CFDS
component? Is it enough.

Hi George,

I would add both UDFS and CDFS, they are not too much in size but can be needed and useful.

For the rest you can use some third-party solutions, instead of WMP.

Best regard,
Slobodan
