DVD - Software to change Region code?

I have a DVD which I cannot play because it has another Region code. My DVD
player will only accept one code.

Is there any freeware anyone can recommend which will enable me to copy the
DVD to another (blank) DVD and change (or remove) the region code at the
same time, so I can then play it in my existing player.

I'm sure it must be possible?

Rip the DVD with
DVDFab Decrypter

or
DVD Shrink
http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/DVD_Shrink/1050004458/1
and then save the ripped DVD as a ISO file
and then burn the ISO file to a DVD with
ImgBurn

Alternatively, you can play the original DVD with Region Killer. Just start
this small progamme, then play your DVD. Works fine for me

That's v 2.5.0.2 - a later (last freeware) version is available on Henry
the Mole's site:

What you need is DVDdecrypter or DVDshrink to copy the DVD (minus or changed
region code) to HD.
These will then make an .iso dvd image to burn to a blank DVD.

To watch the DVD on a stand-alone DVD player.... or do you mean with the DVD
drive of your computer?

If this works for a DVD and a stand-alone DVD player, what are the steps
from the beginning to the end, and is there any advantage over ripping a DVD
and then recoding and copying?
