DVD-ROM Drive appears as CD-ROM Drive in My Computer

B

Bruce

This Drive is apparently made by AGI Technologies, Inc.
It's a 12x DVD-ROM Drive that is detected by Windows as
an ATAPI DVD-ROM STAR2000.

It appears in My Computer as CD-ROM Drive, and does not
recognize DVD's. This drive works fine for CD-ROMs.
I've tried everything I can (for several hours) and
nothing seems to work. Help me, Obi-wan Kenobi! You're
my only hope!

Thanks!

Hi,

You need DVD codec to play DVD.
Install a DVD player or do a google search for free DVD
codec for XP/WMP.
