DVD Region Lock

Hi,

I wish to set one of my DVD roms to play region 1 DVDs, I understand doing
so 5 times the DVD Rom is set to that region for good.

My question is, if I buy a brand new DVD Rom and install this along side the
existing altered DVD Rom above, will this new unit be automaticly locked to
region 1 or will it play region 2 DVDs as I wish.
