DVD-R not recgonized in DVD Rom

I bought some DVD-R's to put my movies onto to show
family and friends, but my DVD-rom doesnt recgonise the
DVD-R when it is in there. I don't know why. P.S. Our DVD-
Rom is -R not +R, so that isnt the reason.

With which software did you burn the DVDs? Do they play on the PC that
created them?

Do you have PowerDVD or WinDVD installed correctly?
