I have power DVD version 4.0. I have no problem playing
my DVD's. Except one that was made for me. It can be
opened on other computers that I tried. What could be the
problem.

Your DVD player may have an older firmware. Try updating
by downoading it from the manufacturer's website. It
works very intutively and can make the difference.
Good Luck

sounds like a format problem, have you considered
looking at it through quicktime? You can get it if you
dont have it from apple and its free for download. But
dont let it become your default player, it will if you
let it so watch out for it tring to become the default
player. good luck

Hi, QuickTime will not help with the drive not reading a burned DVD right.

Could it be a DVD-R that you're trying to play on a player that only
recognizes DVD+R, or vice versa?

I tried but could not. Cyberlink (power dvd) said that
since this was preinstalled with my computer it isn't
compatible with my compt. to try the site of dell, where
I purchased as of yet they did not answer me where to
download the power dvd. They gave me a download of WinDVd
which is not my software.

I don't know where to upgrade to v 4.01. Cyberlink(power
DVD) site only has patch for 4.0. and that didn't work.
They said that since it was preinstalled it was
compatible with their site. I had to download from Dell
where I purchased my pc. Dell said I should download
winDVD patch. I didn't do that since that is not my
software. They did not respond to my problem yet.

.
thank you howard for answering me. When I looked at the
DVD it did say DVD-R. And one DVD that does work had DVD+R
so if my computer only recognizes DVD+r how do I correct
that it should be able to recognize both. Since other
computers do recognize both.
