Hi there!
Since having installed Windows XP, there's something wrong with my
DVD-ROM-Drive (Toshiba) or my soundcard (Creative Audigy Platinum) - or
both. When I play DVD-Videos, there isn't any sound.
My first guess was ASPI drivers, so I installed some Adaptec. It enabled
at least my MP3 grabbing software to read audio digitally, which was
also impossible before.
But there is still no sound when playing DVD.
Strangely, audio CDs are played correctly, yet they are treated as wave
data. (?) Enabling or disabling the "CD digital" and "CD audio" bars in
the audio properties doesn't have any impact on it, but changing the
"wave"-bar does.
It can't be a hardware problem, because I changed nothing about my
computer but the OS (from Win ME to Win XP). I have already updated my
sound card drivers, but to no avail.
Anyone an idea?
thx in advance
