DVD DRIVE NOT RECOGNISING BLANK DVDS

Hi,

I have a Sony Vaio A VGN-A215M, im running Windows XP, the laptop says it
has a "Double Layer DVD+/-RW Drive" ... the laptop plays CDs and DVDs fine
however, when I try to create a data DVD, it does not recognise the fact that
I have a DVD inside and does not give any error message.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks...

The native XP CD burning function doesn't do DVDs. You need third party
software - did your laptop not come with any as it has a built-in DVD RW
drive?
