dvd displays on compaq laptop, but not on dlp projector or network

dvd displays on compaq laptop, but not on dlp projector or networked monitor.
Compaq laptop uses XP home edition. Anybody know why?

You must enable "Video Overlay" on the output connector the DLP is connected
to. Reboot computer.
