DVD/CD-RW drive won't read DVD+RWs

My PC has a DVD ROM drive and a DVD RAM drive and DVD+RWs created in the DVD
RAM drive cannot seem to be read in my laptop's DVD/CD-RW combo. I tried the
DVD+RWs in my PC's DVD ROM drive and they work fine. If my laptop is not
supposed to be able to read DVD+RWs then would DVD+Rs work and would they
need to be finalised? Any advice is much appreciated. Cheers.

I have had issues along the same lines as yours...try using dvd-r discs
when burning your data, your laptops DVD combo drive may only be able to
see DVD-R discs..Hopfully that works for you!

Thanks C3Tech for the advice. I've got some DVD+Rs which I'm yet to try but
if they don't work I'll definitely get some DVD-Rs. Actually I've got Nero 7
installed on my PC and if I remember rightly it can tell you what types of
CDs/DVDs each drive can read, so I should install that on my laptop aswell.
Cheers.
