DVD/CD ROM Drive won't work!

Have received the following message

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19

The DVD/CD ROM drive won't work, of course, so I can't reload any software locally. HELP!!

Go to run,type:regedit Expand:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,microsoft
windows,current version,locate and open:source path (you might need t
expand Set-Up first),then locate the cd drive,chk the letter against what i
displayed in my computer.If diffrent,L.click it,edit,modify,change letter,the
close out regedit.
