DVD CD Burning ?

I had to install a new hard drive. When doing the Restore with the cd's it
failed to install the Nero6 program. Is there a way to find this program &
install it from the restore cd? I have a eMachine & I am so tired of
calling these "techs".

If Nero didn't come as part of the Restore image and eMachines didn't
give you an installation cd, you must have purchased Nero and installed
it yourself. If you have lost the cd, you would have to repurchase the
program.

As an alternative, here is an excellent free cd/dvd burning program:

Check the CDs that came with your PC - you may find a Nero one there. It
will be on it's own CD.

Nero was in the restore image, I did not purchase it. During restore I got
a pop up with a file missing from Nero c:\1386\APPS\App30050\nero
oem\nero\cdi\cdi_lmg rtf cab & options were to abort or continue. The tech
told me to abort so it never installed.
Thank you for the link to the free download. I will use it & not mess with
eMachines. I don't want to have to restore my computer again & put
everything back in, which seems to be their "common fix". I appreciated
your information & help.

Thanks, but there wasn't a stand alone cd for Nero 6. It was preinstalled.

The manufacturer's restore CD, normally restores just Windows. Sometimes it
may also reinstall other apps. Apparently in your case it doesn't, which
isn't surprising.

Are you sure that Nero came wit the system originally, rather than your
having installed it later? If so, you should have another CD for Nero around
somewhere. If you can't find it, you'll either have to ask eMachines if they
can replace (probably not for free), buy it again, or get some other similar
product.
