Thank you for the info. It was real helpful. While there, I found this
software site - http://www.prodvd.net/product/productinfo.asp?pid1=PDM .
Has anyone tried this software - PowerPoint DVD maker by ProDVD? I have a
..PPT of pics., music and animations that I want to convert and was wondering
how this software might stack up to DVD.

Thanks

Looks like they have a demo version you can download and try out.
You might want to give that a whirl.

IF you want to get high quality DVD ,
and if you want to preserve the animation and transition
and if you want to play it on TV use a remote control to control its
play

you should use PPT2DVD 3.8.10
http://www.ppt-to-dvd.com/download.php?sid=4

But if you want to get only a video
you should use Camtasia .
