Slow down your burn. If you have a 16x burner and use 16x media burn at 8x.

1st try cleaning your drive

2nd make sure you are using the right media that your drive supports
DVD+R or DVD-R

3rd try burning at a slower speed as previously stated

Thanks guys, I use nero 7, I have formatted and it seems to work fine for a
bit then the problem starts. Also discs that I have burnt in the past that
have worked are now not playing and all the dvd players in house are fine.

Could be the brand of media you are using to burn. Some crap out after a
while and can't be played.

I use Nero 7 and had some problems with a CD writer producing
coasters, I then put a DVD writer in the PC as well and at that time
noted that the CD writer was set as "Cable Select". I then changed it
to "Master" for the DVD Writer and "Slave" for the CD wiriter and both
work fine as disk burners..

I also think that the slower you write the better for long-term
reliability, so I burn at 8x (1200Kb/s) anyway even if I have a much
higher claimed write speed.
