i've upgraded from Me to 2K (AMD Athlon 2500 - MSI
all is well, though i now have significant audio crackle and pop during dvd playback
i've seen it noted that this could be the result of W2K's tendency to share interupts
but it doesn't look like Win2K gives one much option, and maybe i'd be barking up the wrong tree anyhoo
can anyone point me in an appropriate direction
i've installed new drivers til i'm blue in the face
thanx in advance / paul

look at your dvd / and audio card, update drivers, check their support site

Primary 0 and 1,and Secondary 0 were set to DMA (direct memory access
Secondary 1 however, was set to PIO (programmed input / output
i've set this to DMA, and now all is well
(PIO utilizes the CPU, slow and labourious - DMA frees up the CPU and is speedy quick

thanx to all in the background who spent any time on thi
