Yes, but a DV AVI does not a DVD make. By doing so, you simply have a data
backup of your DV AVI video file ( if it will fit ), and the disc will not
work in a DVD player. The DV AVI file must be converted to fully compliant
DVD format in order to be viewed as a DVD.
That's almost right for an uncompressed DV-AVI in MovieMaker2... it's
roughly 12gb per hour. The third party DVD burning equipment will re-encode
and compress it. I can fit 2 x 8gb AVIs on to one DVD-R using Roxio 6.
