Duplicating User Profile

G

Guest

I have a laptop only I use. I have been using the Administrator as my User
for all computer use and now realize this is not a good idea. I would like to
make another User that has all the documents, desktop shortcuts, start-ups,
Outlook data, (i.e. everything) I have in the Administrator profile.

I tried duplicating the user profile using article 255095 and it will not
complete the process and does not give any error message? Please help

You can use the Copy To function to mirror the profile. Logon at least once
as the new user. Then while logged on as another user (with administrative
rights) Control Panel|System|User Profiles, select your userprofile, Copy
To, Browse to
%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\newuser
Change "Permitted to use:" to "newuser" OK.

Use the import function of Outllook to import the *.pst file.
