newbie help

Hi,
I am running a query that shows results from a table with accounts
according to a smaller table of rebates. If the account doesn't have a
rebate I want it to = 0. However after running the query the accts
that have rebates are creating two records: one with the correct rebate
and the other with a 0; even with a SELECT DISTINCT. If I link the
tables together only the records with rebates come up. Can anyone help
me with this? Thanks!!!

Ex:

Account Table: Rebate Table
Account Name Account Rebate
1 Apple 1 0.25
2 Banana 3 0.1
3 Cherry
4 Donut

Desired Result Query:
Account Name Rebate
1 Apple 0.25
2 Banana 0
3 Cherry 0.1
4 Donut 0

Query Now with my If Statement:
Account Name Rebate
1 Apple 0.25
1 Apple 0
2 Banana 0
3 Cherry 0.1
3 Cherry 0
4 Donut 0
