Duplicate Name on Network

Hello,

I have a bunch of computers in a lab, mixed 98 and XP. The one XP Home
machine just recently dropped off the network with a duplicate name on
network error. In the System Event log there is a MRxSmb warning ID# 3033,
telling me:

"The redirector was unable to register the address for transport NwInkNb for
the following reason: You were not connected because a duplicate name exists
on the network."

Every time I use the nbtstat -n command I get 2-3 occurances of the computer
name and 2 occurances of the workgroup name. I'm assuming that is causing
the problem, but I don't know how to delete and get them down to one. Also I
was thinking that the server is not releasing that computer name, which means
it isn't allowing it to renew it.

It would be most helpful if someone could lead me in the right direction.

Thank you,

Chris
