I have Outlook 2003 set up to leave messages on my server (Earthlink) for one
day and then delete them, however, whenever I exit Outlook and restart it, it
downloads the same messages it downloaded earlier in the day. What can I do
to fix this?? If I don't exit the program, everything works fine. Thanks
for your help!

Have you applied Office 2003 SP2?

Yes, I have Brian. I am running Office 2000 and Outlook 2003. That
shouldn't have anything to do with it, though, should it? I only installed
Outlook 2003 last night and ran all of the required updates from the
Microsoft website.

I misunderstood you Brian. No, I have not installed the Office 2003 SP2
because I am not running Office 2003...I'm running Office 2000. Do you have
any other ideas what could be causing the problem. I should mention that I
still have Outlook Express on my computer with all of the folders which
contain emails. I imported the folders into Outlook 2003 last night. I
guess I don't understand how the server works. Does it not know that it
already sent those messages to me earlier today. What does it check the
messages against? Sorry to ramble...I'm at a loss!

Outlook 2003 is a part of Office 2003 and applying the 2003 SP-2 may solve
your problems.

Thank you, Milly. Can I install the 2003 SP2 to the stand alone version of
Outlook 2003 or do I need to purchase Office 2003? I'm running Office 2000.
I have downloaded all the required updates for Outlook 2003. I just don't
know if the 2003 SP2 will work since I'm not running office 2003. Thanks
always!

Yes.

You should install the update. It contains fixes for Outlook 2003 that
address this issue. The update will install fixes for only those products
to which it applies.
