duplicate emails - trying to blend folders

I've got 3 sets of folders that contain ALMOST all of the same emails but
there are some differences. Within these folders are many many sub-folders.
I'm wanting to merge these folders into one. When I tried to copy the folder
in its entirety it creates a 'new' folder....now I have 4. Urggggh.

I then tried to copy each folder separately and instead of replacing the
email, it just put it in the folder and now I have identical emails within
each folder....Urgggggh.

Please Please Please someone - Please help me with these issues. Please.
