Duplicate Administrator Folders

Hello everyone.
Over the past few days my computer started acting really strangely, i.e. it
took ages to shut down when I pressed the Start > Turn Off > Shut
Down/Restart/Log Off command. It was just staying on my desktop for aaaages
before it started to respond. Also Word started behaving weirdly too, it
wouldn't let me paste stuff into it.

I tried to fix it by doing lots of System Restores to different (more
recent) dates but to seemingly no avail. However, I think I've now fixed the
problem by going right back to the beginning of the month. Nonetheless, what
I am asking about is that after 'fixing' it, I was doing a little exploring
around and found that in the My Computer > C: > Documents and Settings
folder, I now suddenly had lots of duplicate folders called Adminstrator.[my
name], ranging from that one, up to Administrator.[my name].005.

I'm pretty sure before my computer was sick, and before all of my system
restores, the only users on the computer were Administrator and [my name],
not any ones that looked like they do now. These have suddenly appeared
alongside the usual folders that were there before. Does anyone know if
these are a byproduct of my computer being ill or were they the cause? Is it
safe to delete them? At the minute I have just put them all inside one big
folder and they don't seem to be doing any harm.

Answers and comments would be greatly appreciated.

*bump*

Computer now behaving perfectly (fingers crossed!) but folders/files still
there.
Any answers?
