I have win98se on drive C:\ and win2000 pro on drive D:\.
I want to uninstall win2000 pro on drive D:\ so I can
upgrade win98se to the 2000 pro.

THANKS
Earl

Uninstalling the existing W2K is not neccessity to upgrade the W98 but
you may want to remove the W2K in D: to save hd space.

Boot to W98 start up FD, run sys C: as seen DOS screen as follows:

A:\> sys C:

Then insert W2K CDROM to CD drive and boot to CDROM.(Alternately reboot
to W98 then run setup.exe in W2K CDROM). Hereafter follow upgrade
install steps.

After installation completes, launch Computer Management(Right click My
Computer -> Manage -> Disk Management) then delete or format D: drive.

You may be doing yourself a disservice if you upgrade from Win98
to Win2000.

A clean installation of Win2000 will give you a far superior OS
than an upgrade from a Win9x basis. So, if your current installation
of Win2000 on drive D: was a clean installation, it is likely to be
of far better quality than the upgrade you're planning.
