Hello all,
This post is on behalf of my father, who recently bought
a new computer with XP. His biggest concern was getting
all the data transfered from his Win95 system. On the
advice of several people, he has installed his old hard
drive into his new system.
Now, the problem is that several of the files that he
needs are with programs that are exclusive to 95 and he
can't access them from XP (ex. his address book, which is
in the older Internet E-Mail client) He can use Explorer
to get to the files, but then gets a window asking him
which program to open them with.
He knows just a little about dos prompt and wants to use
that to boot 95, but is worried that may crash XP.
Can somebody please tell me how he may safely boot Win95
on his new computer or point me to some resources on this
issue?
Thank you in advance, Steph
