Dual boot problem

Hey,
I got my laptop with vista home installed on it and today i installed xp
home on it on the resized vista partition.
the setup was successful and the computer booted into xp but when i
restarted i didnt get a bootloader or alternate os dialog. so i edited my
boot.ini in xp hoping i could have it boot into the vista partition (2)
instead of the xp partition (3) but this didnt work. in my ini for the vista
command line is:

[operating systems]
multi(0)disc(0)rdisc(0)partition(3)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Home Edition"
multi(0)disc(0)rdisc(0)partition(2)\Windows="Windows Vista Home"

as you can see the default is windows xp, if i change this my machine will
not be bootable because of vista not booting properly.

Please, any help is much appreciated
Thanks.

Install Vista Boot Pro or EasyBCD to modifiy the Vista boot loader for a dual boot system, create the dual boot option, and select a default o/s to boot at startup. Additionally, rename the older operating system to Windows XP.

Undo the boot.ini options to a pre edited condition, they will not be used since Vista's bootloader will manage the process.
- i.e. you can't use xp's boot loader to run Vista or both thus you have to reactivate Vista's bootloader to do both.
