DUAL BOOT REMOVAL ==========================2 instances of
XP==========================
Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and Recovery Settings > Edit.
Carefully remove the
2nd reference to your non-existent installation.
Assuming you are running XP on C: and do not have a second O/S installed,
you
should carefully edit your "boot.ini file". It should look similar to
this:
[boot loader]
timeout=0
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home"
/fastdetect
P.S. DO NOT EDIT-OUT OR REMOVE THE FIRST REFERENCE TO WINDOWS XP OR YOUR
COMPUTER WILL FAIL TO BOOT

I have just done a full format on my system and reinstalled XP Pro. When
it boots I get the screen asking me what OS to boot.
The 2 choices are XP Pro or XP Pro, I tried both. They are the same OS.
How can I fix this problem?
TIA, Ken
