DSMOD User -pwd function

Dave

Anyone understand why any time I use the -pwd option with
the DSMOD tool I get "dsmod failed:The parameter is
incorrect"

I can use the same command to reset any other setting for
that object except for the password.

DSMOD User "CN=userid,OU=Users,OU=Office,
DC=company,DC=com" -pwd Test1234

Just will not work at ALL.
I'm using an account with Domain Admin rights.
3/25/03 version of DSMOD
Win2K AD Server
from a Win2k Professional station in the correct domain

and as mentioned I can change any other setting such as
DSMOD
User "CN=userid,OU=Users,OU=Office,DC=company,DC=com" -
mustchpwd no

I've even used DSQUERY User -name to make sure I can see
the object and am using the correct DN.

Thank you,
Dave

I thought that could be it as welll be it's not. Tried
all types of passwords and can also manually set it in
ADUC as the same password.

Any other suggestions???

Is the password stored encryted?

Check that you have permission to write that attribute.
Use tip 8285 in the 'Tips & Tricks' at http://www.jsiinc.com as a quide for how.
