DropDownList problem

The fragment below does not show the first item in the set.

If three items are returned, the first one is not included in the
dropdownlist.

Any comments as to why?

ddCategories is a DropDownList



cn.Open()

drCat = cmd.ExecuteReader

If drCat.Read() Then

ddCategories.DataSource = drCat

ddCategories.DataBind()

End If

Because your If drCat.Read() consumes the first line. Use If
drCat.HasRows.
