Dropdown list

How do I create a Dropdown list for each cell in a column
where the values of the list is in alphabetical order, and
is based on a combination of the values being entered in
the same column (excluding blanks and duplicates) and
another list in a different column.

I am running windows 2000.

Thanks.

Hi

I think it might help, then, if you were to post some sample data. Seeing
what you have/need always makes it easier (hopefully!)

Andy.

In the following rows and column A, I have
entered/entering the following date

row1 Investigate Invoice
row2
row3 Investigate Invoice
row4 Undercharged
row5

In the dropdown list for each cell in column A, I
want "Investigate Invoice" and "Undercharged" plus any
text to appear as part of the list once entered in
column "A", but to appear only once i.e no duplicates and
no blank.

Hi

The only way I can think of doing it is to use a hidden column, which
contains a constantly updating list.
I know that there are ways of doing this without using VBA, but it does get
complicated. Chip's site:
http://www.cpearson.com/excel/topic.htm
offers some functions which will help. I'll see what I can sort out from
there.

Andy.
PS I finish here in 45mins.

Thanks Andy and Debra.

I have found an Excel spreadsheet (DataValListAddSort.xls)
at the site you mentioned that I think will solve my
problem.
