Dropdown List - Size of Text

Excel 2002

Our Excel company timesheet has some dropdown list boxes that allow the user
to select what text will appear in the associated cell (e.g. a short list of
names of the person who will authorise the timesheet).

The list is defined in the Source field of the List function in the Data
Validation dialog box.

The font size of the text in the cell is 18pt, but the size of the text in
the drop-down list is so small, it cannot be read.

Is there any way to increase the size of the text in the dropdown list?

I believe the font used in a Data Validation drop down is Tahoma 8 and I
don't think you can change that. That font is pretty readable I find,
unless you have zoomed down to 70% or thereabouts. If that's what you're
doing then you may have to zoom out some. Or maybe something else is going
on.

Yes, to display the whole timesheet (A4 Landscape) on screen the default
zoom is 60%.

I was hoping I could specify a larger font for the dropdown box text.

Mind you, I don't see why the dropdown box has to be zoomed down. As it is
only a temporary, superimposed window, surely it could have been kept full
size, or at least used some sort of smartsize approach? It's not much use
when you can't read it and the rest of the timesheet is perfectly legible at
60% zoom.

Good point. Sadly neither you or I was on the development team<g>.
