Dropdown color

Is there a way in asp.net to color individual items?

I know I can set the color of the background and foreground, but what about
an individual item in the drop down?

ASP.Net list controls does not support attributes (a style in this
case), even though HTML <OPTION> element supports them.

You can try using a HTML Server control or create your own ASP.Net drop
down control by overriding render contents to emit any attributes in
the HTML output.
