Drop-down Form Field

In Word 2003 I'm trying to create a dropdown list in a form document. I
click on the Dropdown icon on the forms toolbar and it puts in a grey
rectangle square. I go to it's options and type a list and select OK to go
back to my document. For some reason I'm not getting the dropdown arrow next
to the field so I can select an item from the list. What am I doing wrong?

Richard,

You must apply forms protection to your document before the dropdown
formfield will function as desired.
