I have a table with three rows. The first column contains text. When I
highlight a paragraph then go to Insert the Drop Caps option in the Text
group is grayed out.
I need to know what can I do to create a Drop Cap for the first letter in
this paragraph.

This is because drop caps can't be added in table cells (or text boxes),
unfortunately. You will have to fake it, by adding direct formatting (or a
character style) to format text.

Happydude,
As far as I know you cannot use a drop cap in a table. The reason being that
drop caps are inserted in a frame and you cannot use a frame in a table.
