Drivers

I'm replacing my RadeonLE with a Radeon 9100, can I just swap out the cards
since the existing drivers (Catalyst 3.1) are supposed to be compatible with
both? I'm running Windows XP Pro. Thanks in advance.

I think windows will ask you for a driver set upon reboot of windows
when you replace the RadeonLE with 9100 but you should be able to tell
it just to look in your system32 folder for most files (presuming your
running windows xp)

Thanks

You better install the newest Catalyst 3.6, which you can donload from the
ati-page.

Tim,
You should uninstall the hardware from within windows, shut down, pull the
card out, put the new one in and reboot. It will find and install the
drivers automagically, most likely. If you don't do this you may BSOD, maybe
not.

thx,

Thanks everyone. I first tried removing the old card from XP's device
manager then swapping the cards. It worked but with visual artifacts. So I
uninstalled the old drivers and installed the latest drivers (I already had
the latest version of DirectX installed). Smooth sailing after that.
