Drivers for 64bit?

D

Deborggraeve Randy

Hi,

I'm considering downloading the 64bit version of the new vista release.
But i want to know first if there are enough 64bit drivers available.

i have an Asus A8V Deluxe mainboard and i know the moment i bought it, it
spend lots of time finding 64bit drivers for xp, so i guess it will be a
bigger issue to find all these drivers for vista.

Cause in belgium internet provider have strict download limits i just cant
download both the versions :(
So i want to know if i will be able to run it before i download it. The
32bit version runs as good as perfect on my pc.

I did this even when installing XP before - I checked the manufacturers
websites for drivers relating to the hardware. A machine over the other side
of the house is 64-bit Windows Vista (the rest are either XP or WS03 R2) and
I had to literally go to each website one by one and make sure there were
drivers.

So ou've got an Asus motherboard - check the driver site! It's unlikely
they'll have full released client drivers for Vista yet, but I've found that
most XP ones actually work ) Still having trouble with my Logitech webcam
though (

Definitely check the website. XP-64 drivers should work for the mobo.

What other peripherals do you have? That's where things get a little
dodgey.

When I set-up my first XP-64 machine, I had to give up (at least on that
machine :) connectivity with my digital camera and with my networked
printers.

Most of the hardware is onboard ... only cards in the pc is my ati graphics
card.
Will look for the drivers cause most of my 64bit xp drivers are still beta.

Gone download the 64bit today ... preparing my pc for full reinstall (both
xp and vista)
