On Sunday, I restored my PC to an earlier date because my system has been
running quite bad. After the restore, it restarted. Then, it went to a
black screen and said a componet was missing which would not allow Windows to
start properly. So, I reinstalled XP and repartitioned everything. Now my
system is fresh BUT my drivers are missing. I can't use the driver disc and
reinstall because it doesn't let me. I even go through run and still when
clicking on setup or install, I have no such luck. I am going crazy- no
internet (I do have a cable modem but can't reinstall that as well. I have
no sound. So, here I am at work trying to find the solution to this problem.
Please help! I have tried nearly everything I could possibly think of!

Windows XP includes drivers for just about any device you will want to
install. Nothing you can do can 'wipe out' those drivers.

When you are trying to reinstall the drivers do you get any error messages.
Are they all from the same CD. Does the CD or DVD drive spin up.
I would advise you to put the XP cd in and open each device in device
manager and selet update drivers and let windows search the XP disk for the
drivers.
If you are using a cable modem you shouldn't need drivers as its a standard
ethernet connection to the cable router opening IE should connect you
straight to the internet. What ISP do you use?

I have the same problem I rebooted my pc to what was on it when I bought it
and I have no sound either.
