Hi

since formatting and reinstalling XP Home sp1 with all of the updates my
Etehrnet Controller is not working.

In Device Manager there is a yellow ?! beside it and in Properties it says
"The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)"

I have tried updating the driver, both with the XP CD and the automatic
searching the Internet but nothing is working.

Any ideas on where I can find a driver?

thanks

Daniel

Daniel,

Motherboard CD

If it is on-board (on your motherboard) then get the model of the motherboard & go to the
manufacturers website to get the drivers.

If however it isn't built into the motherboard then find the manufacturer/model of the
card & then get them from them

It's rather difficult to suggest a source for drivers since you have not
given any information that would help.

Is the Ethernet controller provided by a chip on the motherboard or is it
a card whether PCI or USB? What is the maker of the card or chipset used?
Did a CD or DVD come with the computer or Ethernet device that might have
drivers on it?

Hi Newbie Coder and Tom

sorry about my lack of info, not thinking I guess,
but I went to the Motherboard site and got one there,
it's working now.

Thanks for the help and suggestion

regards

Daniel
