Drive Assignments

Hi.

I have an HP computer with one hard disk.

Originally, C: was the XP Home partition, and H: was the Restore partition.
I removed the XP Home partition and installed XP Pro.

Unfortunately, C: is now the Restore partition and D: is the XP Pro
partition.

Now I have to remove the XP Pro so I can use the Restore utility (F1=Setup /
F10=Restore). Even though I have changed the drives so the XP Pro partition
is now J: and the Restore partition is now D: (in Windows)--leaving C:
apparently available--booting with the XP Pro CD still shows the Restore
partition as C:

Somehow, I need to delete the XP Pro partition and make what XP Pro Setup
now sees as the C: partition appear to be another drive letter (say, D:) so
I can make the new (former XP Pro partition) appear as C:

The problem isn't as complicated as it sounds, but the solution seems
elusive. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

What is on the Restore partition? If you can boot to this drive, you will
not be able to change the drive letter from C.
