Hi

I'm trying to open a floppy disc but it's telling me the disc isn't
formatted and won't let me open it. If I click on format now it says all the
info will be lost, if I ignore, it just won't open. I've tried copying the
disc but I can't do that either.
I can't afford to lose the info on this disc! I'm panicking now!

Try the disk in another pc and see if you can open it, otherwise try open it
on a win98/dos pc. I find that dos can sometimes open a disk that windows
cannot as it doesnt try to read the whole disk, and then copy the file you
need.

hello,please use "hd-copy"tools to try.also use "norton disk"doctor "to
try.I am from in China,I learn a little English,sorry!!

The following may apply:

Floppy Disk is Not Accessible, Not Formatted, or Not Recognized by Windows

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;140060&Product=winxp

If the above does apply and you have files on the floppy, then you need to
find a computer with an older version of Windows that can open the floppy.
Copy the files to the hard drive and then copy the files back to a floppy
formatted with Windows XP {or at least an updated format}.
