Doesn't MS have some sort of patch for this stupid
drifting cursor problem yet?!! This is on a
laptop, running xp and sometimes it just goes berserk, you
can't do anything, it clicks on links and you can't
control it -then it will work fine for a while. This is
so frustrating, can anyone direct me to a solution?

What kind of mouse? If it's the pad type built into the laptop, then consult
the maker of your laptop for problems with their mouse or for driver
updates. If it's an ms mouse(intellimouse) try updating to intellimouse 5.

Windows XP is not causing your cursor to drift.
Visit the support website of the manufacturer of
your laptop, search for the latest video adapter
drivers designed to work with Windows XP,
download and install them. If this procedure
does not resolve your problem, its possible
your video adapter is defective and will have to
be replaced by the manufacturer of your laptop.
