only think that a google search shows is the error is known to show if OS is not activated.

My Windows Vista Ultimate _is_ activated, and of course i have tried to use
google/microsoft site search to find something similair to mine problem, and
i have read all posts here related to "dreamscene".. no help has been found,
that's why i posted mine question.. now i came back and see no solution..

do you have UAC turned off by chance. some problems installing stuff with it turned off.
if so turn it back on and try again.

Open Control Panel, select Classic View on the elft side menu. Double Click
User Accounts. Click 'Turn User Account Control on or off'.

On the next screen place a check mark in the 'Use User Account Control (UAC)
to help protect your computer'. Click OK. Exit and reboot the computer.

I was simply responding to your request about how to turn on UAC.

This thread was about not being able to install DreamScene, but, in your
original message, you said that you don't have Vista Ultimate and this is
the only version that has DreamScene available?

You either need to give us more details about the exact update that you are
trying to install and the complete error message that you are seeing as well
as when it appears.

If you are not running Vista Ultimate, it will not be able to install.
Which version of Vista are you running?

That particular error indicates that a required component was not found,
which would sound indeed like you are not using Vista Ultimate. ?
