The demo on Microsoft.com that shows how to drag an email to the task folder
clearly shows that the message text in the body of the email is included.
When I drag emails to tasks, the messaage text is not included. I'm using
Outlook 2003.
(When something's not working, it tends to be my error.) Anyone got any
ideas?
Thanks for any assistance.

Works here - Outlook 2003......

Left drag brings the data into the Task as Text, right drag gives you option
to Move rather than copy.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your responses but, after agonizing over this for days, one of my
co-workers figured out my problem. My boss sends her emails in HTML format.
Obviously those are the ones that I want to turn into tasks. Forwarding her
emails to me after changing the format to Rich Text solved the problem. Now
when I drag to a new task, the body text goes with it. Easy, but bewildering
if you don't know!

Right dragging works with HTML. Release and select Move here as Task with
Attachment.

How do you use a rule to turn a message into a task? I don't want to have to
drag and drop.

Judy,

Just lurking for an answer that has been annoying me for a VERY long time.
Now that I know how to move/copy an email so attachments come along to the
task, my life will be MUCH simpler.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

you're welcome! I'm glad I have lessened your frustrations a bit!!
