I have a problem I've not seen before.

WindowsXP Pro SP1
Logged in as Administrator
Removed the Sasser worm yesterday.

Drag & Drop does not work. I cannot move the icons on the desktop. I
cannot drag files in windows explorer.

I cannot open network connection properties.

In the MMC, I cannot open any properties. Users, Services, Events,
etc; are all listed but I cannot open or view the detatils or
properties.

I don't know for a fact that these problems didn't exist before the
worm was removed.

Several google searches have led me to believe the problem to be with
the RPC being disabled. The RPC says STARTED.

Anybody got any ideas?

Right click the Start button and choose Properties. Click Customize on the
Start Menu page. Check the box to enable dragging and dropping. That should
at least take care of some of your problems.

Thanks, but I've already checked that. All the usual things I would
expect to cause these problems don't seem to be the cause.
