drag copy corrupts data?

If with a column of figures 1.01, 1.02, 1.03 ... I drag &
copy down all appears OK, but after a variable number of
rows the figures are slightly corrupted, eg: 3.44, 3.45,
3.45999999999, 3.46999999999 ....

It can even corrupt some and not others -
4.58, 4.58999999999,5.00, 5.10000000001 ...

Presumably it's a sort of rounding error, but is there a
work round for this?

You might have to adjust this depending on what row you started on:

=1+(ROW()/100)

And drag down.
