I'm using Outlook 2003. I've not used Outlook in a long while.
My tree of "All Mail Folders" looks like (as expected):
Mailbox - LastName, Jeff
Deleted Items
Drafts
Inbox
etc.
I dragged an email message onto the root of this tree, i.e. onto the
node that says "Mailbox - LastName, Jeff." Why? Because I thought the
root could contain emails; I had no reason to think otherwise. My bad.
The end result of the drop is that the email appears to have
disappeared completely. Interesting feature. Clicking on "Mailbox -
LastName, Jeff" just displays Outlook Today. A search against all
emails doesn't find the email I dropped.
Are these emails truly gone? If not, where might they reside?
Thanks in advance,
Jeff
