I'm having problems with my machine. I have xp and I can't open any folder or
my computer. When I try either the computer will act like its rebooting or
I get the dr watson message. The programs I have will operate fine. Can
somebody point me in a direction that I can solve this problem .

Disable automatic restart on system failure (on SP2): Press F8 on restart, and see the menu item to disable auto restart. Restart,
and when the STOP message appears, record information needed for further troubleshooting.

Thanks for getting back to me.

When I click on the more info in Dr Watson box this is the message I recieve
Event Type BEX P1:drwtsn32.exe P2: 5.1.2600.0 P3: 3b7b84a2

P9: 00000000

Then when I click on more info again I get the following messages;

What does this mean and where should I goo from here? I have ran my Adware
se spyware and spybot on my computer and removed verything that they had
found on the hard drive. Also I ran a system defrag this morning. I don't
have a clue were to go next. Any help I can get would be truely greatful.

Jeff, Have you found a fix for your problem. I have the identical one -
right down to all numbers Event type to P9. I am unable to open the same
things you discribe. Any help will be appreciated.

I am also having the identical problem. Running Win XP Home, with SP2.
My doc watson error occurs when I open a folder in Windows Explorer, (I
use details view) and as the details are being filled in, it seems to
hang when it hits an avi file.
The error also happened in safe mode. I think I might have actually
fixed it, after trying several methods of troubleshooting, I eventually
ended up updating my vid card driver (nvidia card), I also uninstalled
an Xvid codec, and uninstalled MS antispyware, restarted the machine
and it seems to work now.
I also noted that the problem started after installing Bit Tornado...no
idea if it's related or not, but it started after the next restart, and
uninstalling it did not work.

I pulled this from another message bit it seems to have worked for me....it
may work for you:

You probably have a right-click context shell extension left over from
ME that is not playing nice in XP. Get the free ShellExView to
troubleshoot this:

Use ShellExView to disable all non-MS extensions and then you can enable
