DPI and the Start Menu

I changed my display DPI to 105 for better readability, bu the Start menu
doesn't seem able to adjust to it. The right pane remained the same width as
before even though the Shutdown etc. buttons were bigger, cutting off part of
the arrow button. Also the dropdown menu of shutdown options is not connected
anymore to the start menu.

Is this a known bug? Has Microsoft worked out a fix for this?

Hello I know that Vista is not that flexible.. however I have found a way to
make things better visually

There is a old PCMAG program called displayset that allows you to adjust the
fonts of windows all at the same time

you can read about it here (pc mag wants a subscription)

to download this freeware go to this Chinese site http://bundo.tistory.com/7
and click on the link just above the image.. its the same program.

after you run it go to the arrows that increases the font says and /or play
around with the 3 bold buttons

see screenshot http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/9631/displaysettx3.jpg

Whenever you press APPLY the changes are done on-the-fly

tell me if this helps!

Thanks for your suggestion, however DisplaySet only seems to increase the
font size and not the general display. The problem I'm having is actually
quite trivial and doesn't warrant installing additional software. I'm just
trying to generate some awareness to this bug and hear of any fixes.

look I know what you are trying to say..

I have helped many people who even have vision impairment...
Old people and sick people who cannot see. Listen carefully...

You probably have an LCD monitor, and the problem with those is that they
have a fixed resolution
that is usually high. This fixed resolution is where the LCD has the best
clarity.

YOU CAN change resolutions making everything bigger but they will also look
fuzzy.

So you have 2 solutions, the DPI change that you know but has some problems
with it (as you observed)

and the universal font sizing that I gave you the program to do...

if you try what I said you will see how nice and clear it is...

here is a screenshot of MY start menu

See what I mean?
The program I gave you doesnt do anything really, it just sets the built in
settings that windows has..
but it changes everything at the same time..

if you dont want to INSTALL IT, I have uploaded it here as a zip file, you
just run the displayset.exe and it works,
no need to install

I hope you understand and you take advantage of my expert advice

Download the zip no-install version from here
