downloads all go to paint

i need help
everytime i
try and download a file it always says that (paint cant read this file. this
is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported)
i am very UPSET i've been trying to fix this problem for a month PLEASE

What browser? Look at its Download settings and reset what it does with
downloads.
