Downloading RC1

Ok, not so much an installation question....
like a few others on here i have not yet got my email from msft... no biggie
i figure its coming and i was just going to try my B2 key anyway and see what
happened, i just want to download it now because it will take a couple of
days to pull it down anyway at my modem speed... problem is, the only way i
can get it without downloading the 907 byte 'refferrer_denied' webpage is by
doing it directly through IE, meaning i cannot resume if the download fails.
I cannot get the Akmai download manager to grab it, and getright fails in the
same way as well...
Has anyone found/overcome this or is it some sort of glitch on my system?
Does the email from MSFT just give a link or is there something special im
supposed to have to do to make the link work if i want to download it using a
d/l manager? I have even tried signing in (through the office 2k7 beta
preview page) to make sure that if it is checking that i am registered from
CPP that it gets the right credentials...

Thanks in advance.

I'm downloading it right now with Download Express OK. There was a link
towards the top right of the access page for people who wanted to use their
own browser/download manager.

Cheers, still cannot get the akmai thingo to work.. fixed it in getright by
changing the refferer settings to: 'generate from download url' instead of
'calculate based on open browser page'... hope this helps anyone else having
difficulty....

The download is still working fine. I just downloaded RC1 again just to see
if there was a problem. There is not. I downloaded using IE7 RC1 with no
download manager. It took me 2 1/2 hours to download RC1. I have downloaded
RC1 a number of times now without a problem.

It will be another 2 to 2-1/2 hours to install it too.
However, it's pretty much hands off installation.

2 1/2 hours... wow... if only i had that amount of speed..... but anyway,
i too can get the link to work in IE7 RC1 with no download manager, but if i
try to use the akmai one that microsoft recommends i still get the 907 byte
file instead... Tried it again just then still with no luck, still cannot
figure that bit out, even removed and reinstalled the akmai plugin... im not
going to worry about getting the akmai thing to work now anyway, ive only got
5 hours remaining on my getright download (24 hours after i started it mind
you)

Think you missed the point sorry.... i already had the link to that page...
(figured it out from the B2 installation page...) but my problem was that
when clicking on the download links i was getting a html doc telling me that
rc1 was only open to cpp members..... Ifigured it out in getright, but still
can't get it to work with akmai, but i dont care too much now coz it's
downloading.

That html page telling you the product is only open to cpp is pretty silly
seeing as anyone can chuck the download link into IE, end up on the download
page and get a copy without going thru authentication (which is what i
thought must have been stopping me the first time)... still i guess you still
need a key to use it....
